About Me

(in about 475 words)

Intro

I’m a Senior Software Engineer with a love for all things tech. I’ve had the pleasure of working with some amazing companies, building everything from cloud-based applications to microservices that help keep the digital world running smoothly. Over the years, I’ve gotten my hands dirty with React, Node.js, AWS, and more. Whether it’s spinning up containers on Kubernetes or coding real-time features with AWS AppSync, I’m always chasing after the next cool challenge.

Some History

  • My journey into tech started pretty young. Growing up, my parents were probably regretting putting that first computer in my hands by age 6. I quickly moved on from playing Lemmings to trying to break stuff on purpose—whether that was my school’s network or an old TV I was desperate to turn into a gaming station. By 12, I’d built my first basic website, and by 15, I was knee-deep in learning how to code, fascinated by everything from backend systems to front-end design.

  • In my professional career, I’ve had a blast working with companies like Bitly, ESO, and Atlassian, solving complex problems at scale and improving user experiences. At Bitly, I was part of a team that re-architected their URL shortening platform using Docker, Kubernetes, and AWS ECS, cutting down latency by a whopping 35%. That might sound dry, but trust me—it was fun!

  • Outside of work, I’m constantly exploring new things. I’m a bit of a fitness buff, so when I’m not at my desk, you might catch me running, hiking, or experimenting with new workout routines. I’m also big on travel—there’s something exciting about landing in a new place and getting lost in its culture (and sometimes literally lost…).

  • If you ever want to talk tech, swap ideas, or just nerd out about the latest AWS innovations, feel free to reach out. I love connecting with people and discovering new opportunities to grow.

Some Fun Facts

  • I built my first game in Flash when I was 13 (R.I.P Flash).
  • My favorite programming challenge in college was reverse-engineering an old arcade game. I may or may not have destroyed some poor player’s high score with my hack.
  • I’m a bit of a sneakerhead—nothing like a pair of new kicks to kickstart creativity.
  • I once broke a computer in my school’s lab and somehow convinced the staff it wasn’t me (still sorry about that, Mrs. Taylor).
  • AWS has been my playground for the past several years, and I can’t wait to see where cloud tech takes us next!

I Like
